Great article. Student is taking an Intro to College class that talks about taking classes. This is exactly the kind of class that a first time college student needs.

This one is pretty good. He is talking to nursing students but the concept is the same. He gives 8 tips to returning students and he hits good points.

Here is a link from Medscape titled, "An Overview of Adult Learning Processes" written by Sally S. Russell, MN, CMSRN, CPP. Russell shares "educators should be aware of possible environmental and emotional barriers to education".http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/547417_4
My goal is to assist adult learners acclimate to the college culture. During my time as an undergraduate at URI I noticed a common disconnect between students and
the expectations that are placed on them by the university. The apparent issues
were: arriving to class unprepared and late, lack of time management skills, test
anxiety and techno-phobia just to name a few. Having returned to school after a long absence
myself, I experienced this anxiety as well. What I hope to accomplish with my blog is to help students that experience this anxiety become more confident and comfortable while moving forward to achieve academic success.
